This was not enough as Royal number 3 batsman Yusuf Pathan struck the fastest IPL half-century - from 21 balls - in his score of 61(28 balls, 4x4,6x6), IPL debuter Graeme Smith s useful 71 from 45 balls, Mohammad Kaif 34 (16 balls) and end quick blast of 22 from 9 balls by Royal captain Shane Warne helped Royals to reach the target with 1 ball left. It was Warne who ruled the last over from Symonds hitting successive sixes off the last two balls of the innings.
